‘Adam’s Law’ Enjoys Early TV-Ratings Judgment at CBS

‘Adam’s Law’ Enjoys Early TV-Ratings Judgment at CBS

Adam Levy usually delivers verdicts, but he probably doesn’t mind receiving this one.

His syndicated program, “Adam’s Law” is the most-watched new series in the category so far in the 2026-2027 TV season, according to data from Nielsen. During the week of October 19, the program hit a new high in viewership, capturing an average audience of 1.33 million. Season to date, the program is luring an average of 1.29 million viewers.

Levy and his backer, CBS, bet they could replace the hit “Judge Judy,” a daytime-TV mainstay that ran on TV for 25 years. For Levy, that’s no small task. Judy Sheindlin, the star of that program, is his mother.

Viewers were “being asked to simply tune in to my show because of who my mother was, because of who I was related to,” Levy says during a recent interview. “There were many who were hesitant, who thought that this was a gimmick.”

Now, after being on the air for several weeks, he hopes the audience is impressed by what he brings to the screen. Levy makes sure to explore whether litigants on the program have past history with the court or an established record of making frivolous claims.

“This is what judges should be doing. Judges should be holding people’s feet to the fire,” Levy says. He believes TV audiences appreciate seeing him do the extra work and holding people to account. If judges “chastised lawyers when they came in and made what are outright, just complete lies,” they would face less frivolous litigation, Levy says.

Levy has a long history with the law. He served as an actual district attorney and assistant district attorney, and later became one of the judges on the Amazon Prime Video series, “Tribunal Justice.”

CBS is also tracking Levy’s social-media following. So far, he’s nabbed 321,000 followers on Instagram, 214,000 on Facebook, 33,000 on TikTok and 30,000 on YouTUbe. Levy suggests that he’s only getting started. “I see this show going on for quite a number of years,” he says.

“I hope this starts a movement,” he says of response to his techniques, “and that we start getting better judges as a result.”
